| Customer Reviews: About the Music... October 24, 2008 Ursula K. Raphael (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a pity that many Nick Jr. CDs are getting low ratings because of the accent issue.
The fact that they use real children's voices for these characters was one of the most appealing aspects of the show, but what won over the whole family is the wide range of music genres that are covered, such as swing, country, hip-hop, scat, rock, opera - just to name a few...
This is a nice addition to the other Backyardigan CD. The variety of music genres is different from the first. "Tree to Tree" reminds me of Celtic music, while "Shake Your Body" sounds like disco. Some of our other favorite tracks were "Rad Moves," "Drumming Song," and "Eureka!"
With the questionable content of most popular music these days, it's nice to have the Backyardigans to play for your entire family, and be able to educate your little ones on using their imaginations while learning valuable lessons to music from so many time periods and cultures.

I was grateful to advice regarding the voices and put off buying the CD for a while. Still not being able to get the UK voices I asked my little girl if she would like to hear the Backyardigans 'friends' singing their songs. She loves the CDs. We bought both on used and new. Admittedly she still asks for the backyardigans singing on their own now and again, but until the UK version is released, prepare your children, let them hear the samples and enjoy the songs.
