4 out of 5 stars Some obvious things but some new stuff too   March 26, 2010

I read the various reviews before buying this book so I think I was fairly prepared for it to contain some of the more obvious ideas for fun playtime. Whilst I agree with some of the poorer reviews that some ideas are "obvious" I must admit that most of them were not "obvious" to me. I have one son and until I had him did not have any experience where children were concerned. For someone like myself who is still finding their way and trying to come up with fun things to do I think this book is a useful tool. When I read some of the ideas they do appear obvious but not obvious enough for me to have tried them.

We have tried a couple of things and my son loves them - neither of them had occured to me before!

Overall a good book if you are expecting what you get!

5 out of 5 stars A Little Book of Ideas for Grandma!   March 16, 2010

There may be a few activities in this book that have been around for a while - but my toddler is now nearly forty and I'd forgotten most of them. So, this Grandma is delighted with the ideas in the book and so too is my Grandson.
One of the simplest - hanging small toys on short lengths of string (I used brightly coloured shoe laces) then taping them to the high chair tray so that toddler can throw them off and haul them back (under supervision, of course) - is just brilliant.
There are lots of ideas I've already used and I'm looking forward to using the ideas for older toddlers as my Grandson grows - I love this little book.

5 out of 5 stars I love this book!!!   January 13, 2010

I would recommend this book to each parent who needs a little help getting through the day with their toddler as in this book there are plenty fun ideas how to pass the time. There is even a 'shopping list' and a planner for each week.
