Packed with information and easy to understand May 1, 2010 Ernesto (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a childminder. We were actually given this book by the Local Authority in order to introduce us to the EYFS. For once, they got it absolutely right.
This book tells you, in clear and understandable terms, what you need for the EYFS and, more importantly, what you don't need. It offers helpful advice on evaluating your setting and reviewing your current practice. It acknowledges childminders! We even have an appendix to ourselves, explaining how little planning we really need to do.
So ignore the scare-mongers: beg, borrow or buy this book and see for yourselves.
Buy this now!! March 5, 2010 Ms. C. Masterman The best childcare reference book I've seen so far and so easy to flick through for ideas. It really simplifies eyfs for childcare practitioners in all settings and has loads of handy tips. I will use it in both my playgroup and in my childminding setting. The charts at the end which link all 6 areas of L & D to popular activities such as playdough, painting, water play etc make obs and assessments a doddle.
Brilliant January 8, 2010 Mrs. Wendy E. Williams (Plymouth, UK) As accredited childminders we bought this book 18 months ago and have been thrilled with it. It answers your questions, provides ideas and has just been invaluable for progressing through the EYFS. Cannot recommend this book highly enough.
practical EYFS handbook November 6, 2009 Ms. Sarah C. Flowers (england) This book is really brilliant for the proffesional or the student learning about the EYFS, it contains all the vital information everyone needs, however it needs to be read in conjunction with the EYFS pack, it is worth remembering this book is not intended to replace the proper reading of the entire EYFS pack but rather it is guide to go alongside it to help clarify.
I would highly recomend this book to all in the childcare profession.
